Social Anxiety Support

My name is Jake, I'm 19 and I'm from the US. (Virginia specifically).

I've been living with some form of social anxiety for quite some time now...I've just recently gone to the doctor and begun a treatment for it, and have been taking Paxil for about a month now, and can see some slight improvements...I have been meeting with a psychiatrist and he told me to search the internet for a support group that focuses on social anxiety/depression so here I am.

I hope to meet many new people that share my feelings/troubles and hear their stories as well.

On a personal level, I'm a die hard Miami Hurricanes fan, Washington Redskins fan and Chicago Bulls fan. Sports are my life.

I'm not really a sports fan of everything, except Saskatchewan Roughriders, but thats a Canadian thing

whats up Jake, if you want to share stories and talk a bit drop me a line. i have my story posted in this section of the forum as well if you want an idea of whats going on with my life.

i tried Paxil myself and it made me sick, so I stopped taking it. I really hate the side effects meds give me =/ so I am going to try to beat it with my own free will, and hopefully it works out, it's such a pain dealing with this junk for over 14 years.

im not really into sports or anything though, I am a computer geek, haha.

welcome and have a good time, we will be this anxiety crap eventually!
