Red face my name is jenny

i am new here, but not new to social anxiety. i have been frustrated with it for about 5 years. I have been diagnosed with panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and ptsd.

Ive always been slow to warm up. A friendly person, but too worried all the time. Always worried about how people see me, as i was ridiculed for most of my youth, being fully grown now at 5 feet, but always significantly shorter...plus i am mixed (irish dad, spanish, filipino, chinese mom) so i always looked different.

My main problem is situational claustrophobia. I feel that i cannot escape some events, such as dinners, parties, class, planes, cars.

I have extreme fear that my IBS will flare up and the wrong time, and i am always terrified that i will embarrass myself because of it.

NICE TO MEET EVERYONE!

Welcome jenny,

It is not surprising that people like us get IBS and similar issues due to our worrying nature. I have IBS, though luckily I don't have any pain issues and the rest of the symptoms are under control now.

Incidently there is a support group for ibs at http://ibsgroup.org. It was only through that forum I realised there others with IBS symptoms just like mine and it was a huge relief for me at the time.
