Red face Making Changes and Going Nowhere

So at the ripe age of 35 I am back in school to maybe finally finish my degree. In avoiding writing a rough draft that is due tonight before midnight I stumbled upon this site. I was actually looking for some information, a page to site in my rough draft. Intrigued by a question to rate your loneliness I totally got side tracked and decided that I would really check this site out. I am hopeful (which isn't very common to my emotional lexicon) to find something new and good here.

I say that I want to change and have been in and out of therapy for years with the occasional romance with anti-depressants intermingled as apart of my emotional threesome but as of yet I have not been successful. I know people but I am not one to let folks get close. Those I do let in are there for life or at least that is my intention but things change and people leave. I have moments of being completely content with my brand of isolation but then all that time to think brings me back to old fears and thoughts of my place in the world.

I have tried signing up for local meetup groups with the intent to attend a social event or two but nothing has panned out. I tell people that its too hard as a single parent to make new friends because my life is so limiting but that isn't nowhere near the truth of the matter. It seems like the older I get the worse it is....I would love to find a happy medium. I would love to have a social circle but still get my internal time where its just me.

I am considering therapy and meds again and that line of thought in itself is enough to make me need it.

Not sure what to expect from joining but I "hope" to get something.

[B]I say that I want to change and have been in and out of therapy for years with the occasional romance with anti-depressants intermingled as apart of my emotional threesome but as of yet I have not been successful.

It took me over 6 years working with 5 different Psychrists to get my meds balanced. The meds still have to be changed regularly because the brain finally recongises them and adjust. BUT you can not give up. The correct mix of meds will help. Unfortunately after several years working on SAD we finally conclued that I can not be helped with SAD.

I have now decided that is not acceptable am starting to pursue a path to allow myself to function with others.

It's showing my age for sure but I loved his tagline, "No Gnews, is good Gnews with Gary Gnu!" I Love it and believe in it too.

Thanks for the welcomes. Look forward to chatting with you all soon.
