Smile im new can any 1 relate to my anxiety

i started to pull my hair when i was 7 years old i honestly can not remember how it started or what triggered it off.by time i was 8 years old my mum took me to the GP he diagnosed me with alopecia which obviously was wrong i got diagnosed with tric's 6 years back im 24 now i still pull my hair sometimes something will trigger me off and i can stop pulling for while like when i fell pregnant with my daughter 5 years ago i stopped for 2 years then i started again when i split from her dad i went through a very bad patch in my life then i stopped again when it got really bad it was the same with my son i stopped having the erge to pull all through the 9 months then when he was born it triggered it off again, i would like to not do it at all but its very addictive i can just be sitting thinking and il start twisting my hair and ripping it out or il stress about something daft and i will be doing it again i don't know im doing it sometimes its automatic then my husband jon reminds me on im twiddling as he calls it. I try to keep my fingers busy wen im anxious or when im thinking which helps a bit my doctor's advised me to talk to other people in the same position has me its hard explaining to some one about the condition all my family and friends know and some understand others find it hard to take in but im not ashamed its a condition ive got and will never leave me just wish i knew why it started ?

Hi Crissieloo,

Just reading your post I get a strong sense of the anxiety you must have been feeling while writing it.

I'm sorry I can not directly relate to the exact way your anxiety presents itself but I am happy to be here to listen as a fellow newbie to the board.

Please do not feel hope is lost. We are both young yet with cognitive therapy, will and/or medication much yet is to be seen. I'm determined to overcome my anxiety, I'm too young to lay down to it, as are you.
