Red face Hi guys!! :)

Hello Everyone!

I am brand new to this site. I am 21 years old and I am a full time student. I do love talking to people and I have lots of interests; I think I'm pretty fun once you get to know me Unfortunately, I spend most of my time alone in my room. I hate being alone, but I'm just too nervous to be around other people most of the time. Being with people in class and at work is a struggle, but I have good days and bad days.

At times I am very depressed and have trouble with eating and with sleeping. But when you talk to me, you'll see that I am surprisingly cheerful, lol! I am happy to chat with others and to escape my shell for a little while. So please, get to know me

Your Friend Forever,
LavenderRose

They meet the sunrise out at the horizon
And it's neither sink nor swim

Hi Lavenderrose, you described how I feel a lot of the time as well. I think this forum will be very helpful to you, it has already helped me and I'm pretty new here too.

Thank you MissChocolate and brd1988! I'm hoping to find friends and maybe not be so darn lonely all the time, lol.

Hi there! I've been spending a lot of time alone in my room recently and I also hate it! (It's kind of funny since I live with five roommates.) I become depressed easily when I've been alone for too long. I'm a full time student too and, I agree, it's a struggle. I have two participation orientated classes this semester. I'm dreading those presentations! I must say that I think it's pretty admirable that you have a job. I had a retail job once and it was quite nerve racking! Best of luck to you.

Thank you UltraShy!

Thank you appless - That is funny, lol! I used to have roommates, but it just got too stressful to have people in my private space (we shared a room, eeek! lol). I enjoy living in a building with other people because then I’m not completely alone, but I do like to have an escape haha. I am home at my parents’ house for break at the moment and I have been so depressed that I’ve taken a leave of absence from the job I have at home. Hopefully I get out of my funk before school starts up again! And I agree; retail is nerve racking! I now work in a preschool and I’m fine with the children for the most part, I just can’t really handle staff events. As a tutor at my school, I encourage my acquaintances to book all of my appointments because I’m more comfortable working with those I know, lol. Working is definitely a struggle, but you just try to find ways to make it work

Good luck with your presentations!! I know my public speaking class was a nightmare for me, so I hope you have a better time then I did. Maybe talk to your professor about your concerns before you have to give any presentations. It may help you feel more comfortable I apologize, I’m a bit of a chatterbox at times, lol!

I struggled too with being around people in class, and also eating around people...

Hi Ryobi, it definitely can be hard. In 4th grade some people thought I was anorexic because I refused to eat lunch with the class, lol. I've gotten much better though
