Default Hello..

Hey SAS,
First off I am matt, and I am from Australia. Yeah its ok.

I have had a problem with social situations for a few years. and just of recent it has bothered me enough to look into it further. I dont know if I am just incredible shy or have SA. I guess I will find out with a bit more time.

What has brought me to SAS is on the weekend I met a heap of new people through my housemate. Went to a party for the weekend and just sat there quiet most of the time. Just had nothing to say. Felt really awkward. First night was ok, there wasnt too many people. But when there was a larger group I just felt intemidated or something and just couldnt talk. Sat there most of the time.

Funny thing is that once I am comfortable with people I am talkative I have stuff just pop into my head and I am fine.

Happens in all parts of my life. I avoid interations with people. Only the basic hellos good byes, Dont extend anything into a conversation.
I am affraid of looking like an idiot or saying something stupid. So my reaction is to say nothing and sit there. Then people look at me and go whats up with this guy, he doesnt talk. Had one girl on the weekend bring this up constantly. You dont talk hey. You dont say much hey. Fun Fun.

I would love to be able to walk up to a complete stranger and just start talking, or have a joke with the person behind the bar. It looks so simple when other people do it.

Bit of a rant but just felt like opening up a bit and this seems like a decent place to do it.

Thanks for you time ppl

Hey mucho,
Well what do you want to know. I come from Brisbane and can pretty much say that everything is amazing. Am I happy here, no. But it has everything you could want.

For me, I ride a bike everywhere, so;
it never rains. or rarely
it is rarely cold. Ride all year round
We have twisties (mountains) close by

I have a beach 30 mins away,
I have places to 4wd near by,
also have sports everywhere. I can play a mixed of soccer, basketball and indoor soccer 7 nights a week if I wanted to. Volleyball is also huge over here.

But traffic sucks unless you ride a bike. It does get hot in summer.

Hope that helps. Australia has a lot going for it. But so do other places.

Wow, sounds like you have a ton of stuff to do! Lucky I like America, but I think one day it would be nice to move somewhere else, especially with this garbage economy

I would love to move to the states, sure it isnt as good as what I have in my head. But would be nice. If migration was easier I would be there.
I am planning on moving to canada for 1 or 2 years. Sick of having nothing exciting in my life.

No Matty! I heard Canada was really boring! Well, they do have their hockey, but you can get that in other places too. If you want exciting move to Europe, I hear they do crazy stuff there

I dont know mate, outdoor sports and bars. I could make do with that boring place. Oh and snow
All I want is to be in a completely new place. Just completely different.
Is that going to be good or bad, I dont know. All I know is living life how I do is not helping me.
I have a job, family, friend and pretty much hide any anxiety. But I can not speak to anyone new. I hate large groups and I am very shy with females. I need a change and canada seem nice. I just hope that a year or two of sink or swim will set me free.
