Hello and welcome. At college, I would say just take baby steps, smile and say hello to someone then give yourself a pat on the back for doing it. Work up to more social interaction gradually. Do you feel able to join any clubs or societies? Remember, no-one will think you're odd for feeling freaked-out or overwhelmed at first.

Hey, live rose welcome to the forum.
Most of us have a certain feeling like what you are dealing now. Take it from us, its a new phase of your life why not try to enjoy it and stop worrying about other people what they think about you. Just take the courage, live rose. Who knows this could be the fun phase of your life. Good luck on your college life, Rafael |

Ahh the parent crutch! How wonderful and safe. I just started college this past year, living at home. I had to drop out my first Fall semester, and now am living at homes doing on-line courses. So be proud of yourself that you're sticking it out in the dorm! Sometimes I think I should do the sink of swim appraoch-I should go to some cross country college and just deal with it. But hey I had serious anxiety and I'm terrified!
