Default Would you say you are an observant person?

I think I am. I notice little details about things that I think a lot of other people would miss.

Of course, this just gives me more things to overanalyse and obsess over, so it's probably a bit of a mixed blessing.

Ditto this. I have a tendency to notice really insignificant detail which, has its uses and pointlessness. It has also given me the unfortunate inability to "think simply"/overcomplicate everything.

It also probably annoys the hell out of people because I also have an extremely bad habit of asking too many questions, partciularly about things which most people would not care about. I probably make some people feel like they're being interrogated or something but I honestly have an innocent curiosity about everything other than myself.

My Mom jokes about how I should be a detective because of all the little details I don't miss. I remember walking in a festival, and a guy in a HUGE skull costume walked by us, and everyone exclaimed. All this happened while I noticed a very small flower growing through the sidewalk, and a little sign under it read "Metaphor" (this was downtown). Then looked up and my friend asked "Did you see that!?" I was like, "see what?" Ha.

I am overly observant. I notice little details. My eyes are constantly watching everything and taking everything in. I think it overwhelms me sometimes which makes me feel anxious. I have always been like this.

I'm pretty bad with details. Always been more of a big picture person. And I'm always shocked when someone notices I have a new pair of shoes or something like that because I never notice that kind of stuff on other people. I remember when I used to commute in southern cal, several co-workers would tell me that they waved at me to say hi and I completely ignored them (unintentional on my part). It's awful because I'm in my own little world.

I'll bet you're one of those people who watches everyone else while you're in a restaurant, aren't you?

I'm the same way. I'm not likely to notice when someone gets a haircut, gets new clothes, what brand of car they have, or anything like that. And I find it weird when someone points something out about my car, shoes, clothes, whatever. Like you, I'm off in my own world most of the time.

I had a co worker once who was the complete opposite. He paid extremely close attention to details. He actually annoyed the hell out of me because he often put too much meaning or significance in the smallest things.
