My Background Info: Seriously, in the coming months I'm gonna owe a total of like $4,700, in room/board/tuition etc for the next quarter, plus I have 4 credit cards that all have debt on them plus, I already have an existing student loan, plus, I really wanna move in as someone's roomate when the quarter is over so if that happens, I'll be paying hundreds of dollars each month for about three months And right now, I am unemployed, and I have less than $1000 in the bank. So yeah, I'm in trouble. So what I need from you guys is tips on where are good places to find cash, where you guys have found money, etc....... Like, me, for example, when I was in high school, I found $300 on the bus and I kept it to myself.......so that was amazing and I'd like ideas on how to find cash like that, or even just a $10 or $20 bill somewhere would help a lot too in helping me pay for groceries or school supplies at least Thanks, and FYI, in case you guys think I'm trying to take the easy way out, guess what?, I have a job interview on Wednesday. |

Back pockets are always a nice source. Make sure you're sneaky about it though. You've gotta be a sneaker. I wouldn't want to see you end up in jail, you're too cool.

If you live in a big city, choose a spot where commuters are walking to work and set shop. Dress like **** and pretend you are homeless. Big convincing sign saying God Bless You and you should be raking in something sitting there.

Last year, or really this year, around St. Patrick's Day (big deal here), I found $100 in rolled up 20 dollar bills on the road while riding my bike. Of course I went out and spent on other people at the bar like a tool just because I felt like I had to since I had told them about it. I should not have told them and kept it to myself. Bars a such a waste. One summer I probably found over $100 in cash just riding my bike around. I haven't been finding it as much lately. I used to almost expect to find it.

Christmas is the best time. Everyone is occupied with shopping and not paying as much attention to closing their purses and wallets, so money is bound to fall out. The malls are the best places. It's packed and people don't notice they've dropped money or left money somewhere.
Every Christmas, I find at least 200 dollars this way. Congrats and good luck on the interview.

Where? What stores? JC Penney, Sears? or obscure stores, like what? Which stores hold more cash? What time of the day/night did you find the money? Where specifically?, the outside of the store? in the junior clothing section? cooking section? out in the open on the shiny tile or deep in the different departments on the camouflage carpet? Etc etc |

I never find cash. HOWEVER, there is much free food to be found, which means you don't have to spend as much cash. Back when I had 13 dollars in my bank account, I would wander through the lobbies/convention rooms of downtown hotels during the mornings and eat the muffins/croissants/whatever that they put out for convention attendees. I definitely didn't look like an attendee, but nobody ever said anything.
You might have some luck finding money at a train station or something. People are opening their wallets in a rush to get their transit passes, and cash may fall out from time to time. |

There are three major malls where I seem to find a good bit of money. Sunrise Mall, Arden Mall, and the Downtown Plaza. The most I've ever found was right outside of JC Penney by the doors. That's where I found a one hundred dollar bill around 7:30 pm. I've also found money at the back doors of Sears (also in the woman's section once), the tables at the food courts, and outside FYE, the candy store (can't recall what the name of the store is), by the entrance/exit doors of the mall, inside the elevators, inside the toy stores (KB Toy Store and Toys R Us), by any of the check out counters, and the line where the parents take their kids to get their pictures with Santa. I also find 1 and 5 dollars bills in the parking lot. The best times seem to be between noon - 1:30pm, when people are taking a break and grabbing lunch, and 5-9pm or whenever your local mall closes, when people are rushing to get their last purchases in and having to handle an armful of bags. Hope you find some cash.

I used to work at a video store and would find tonnes of good stuff behind movie shelves against the walls. Twenties, lottery tickets (one won me $10) and alot of change....stuff would roll under and people couldn't get to it...but I had a broom hehe. Alot of change falls into corner story candy displays on the front counter too. Amazing really...better than sofa money even.

You need to go walk around the casinos darlin'....I once found over $300 on the floor of course as an employee I had to turn it in but I got the $$ in 30 days. People drop money all the time on the floor in casinos.

I wouldn't count on walking around and finding dropped money as a source of income~ ...I can remember finding money three times in my life:
$10 on the sidewalk, as a kid when walking home from school... $40 in a restaurant parking lot (this was years ago)... And $100 (five $20 bills scrunched together) on the sidewalk downtown. This was near a bus stop crowded with people.. lots of people walking around. I have no idea how I got it unnoticed or how no one else noticed it first. I wasn't going to ask random people "excuse me, did you lose some money?" so I pocketed it and went on my way. It's random luck. This is a good idea, if you're desperate (going the honest route vs. disguising as a homeless): Quote:

Gee,I guess you could hang around some school bus stops- I'm sure lots of little kids have their lunch money fall out of those itty bitty pockets.-Also,how about school cafeterias? I mean come on,they can survive without that milk money! Kidding, kidding!!

If you apply at various companies they will pay you for showing up 8 hours every day.
