Default Signed into my online credit card account...

... and whoa! they had my bank account balances on there... how'd that happen. My bank got bought out by my credit card company so now they're one. If I sign into my bank online, will it have all my credit card info? And why did they send me a new card with new terms and raise my credit limit?

It's just going to be one big company owning everything... eventually. Maybe one day they'll have all my health information on that site too... when my credit card company and health insurer merge into one. Ahhh, the promised land.

I heard that if you sign into your account late at night, it will ding your credit score because they'll know you have insomnia (and could be worrying about bills).

My credit card is through my bank and its all in one place. I find it convenient..

I dont care when I sign in; I pay my debts on time and in full. If that isnt good enough than oh well. I have never heard that but I wouldnt doubt it either.

Being up late at night doesn't imply insomnia, just a flexible work schedule or a night job. Or a baby, I suppose.

I could be wrong but what I think the op was trying to say is that when these companies merge, there are all sorts of disturbing implications. Yes, it can be convenient to have everything in one place, but the personal information being agglomerated can be misused.

Health insurers are insurance companies and as such are financial companies. Deregulation of finance could allow them to merge with credit card and bank companies. In that case let's imagine what happens if you get diagnosed with cancer... might they raise your rates on your credit card? increase your minimum payment to anticipate your financial problems? eliminate your credit entirely? Since they know you'll be out of work to be in for surgery or even if you're at risk of dying, they could react in a way that ensures they benefit financially (at the expense of you and your family).

So yes Hoth and Micro, I think the op already agrees with you. But then again he likes to refer to himself in the third person so maybe he's just nuts.
