Default Nature

Who here loves nature? I truly love nature myself. Mother earth can be so beautiful at times. I had such a surreal experience with nature this weekend that it's almost hard to put into words. I don't get a chance to get away from the city often but when I do I take it for what it's worth. This weekend I went to an outdoor party out in the country and it stormed like a mofo at the beginning of the evening which pretty much trashed everyone's tents and even snapped a few tent poles. It looked like a tornado had passed through our campsite. But after the storm passed it was a wonderous night. There was constant sheet lightning off on the horizon the entire night. The clouds broke up a little bit and you could begin to see some of the stars and the moon made an appearance with lighting going off on both sides of the moon constantly. And then to add to this amazing spectacle there was lightning bugs blinking everywhere in the fields. Then when the sun started coming up it was one of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever gotten to see. It was an amazing weekend with nature and such a surreal experience. I wish I could experience it more often than I do.

I do. They have this show they show on one of my HD channels. It might be on discovery HD. It's called sunrise earth and all they show is sunrises from different arears and different times and all these animals just doing whatever, no sound either cept for the animals and whatever else is in the area. It's so relaxing and very nice to watch.

I love to get out and see the beauty of nature and do it fairly often. I am fortunate enough to have lots of places around where I live that offer lots of opportunities to see nature at its best. I have access to both the mountains and the desert, and live near a river.

I spend a lot of time outside. I like being in the woods, noticing new plants, seeing different birds, being hidden.

There is this preserved seaside area that I go to. I had picutres up of it before. There are things growing there that I have not seen anywhere else around here. There are even cacti. It's one of my favorite places. Some parts I don't go into because I don't like getting lots of ticks. But there is one part of it where there is a semi-secret beach that I used to go to as a kid.

I love nature. I don't often get to see it though as I don't own a car. It really is an important thing to me and I love beach and country.

Passionate about nature. Especially understanding life. I finally identified this giant plant(it is about 7-8ft tall now, it was only 3-4ft last month) that has been growing near my house. Might seem silly but I was elated.

(It turns out it is an extremely poisonous plant..deadly to humans, cows, etc. But the young plant used to be eaten by poor farmers as a vegetable after boiling several times to remove the toxins. That's what I love about nature: everything has a story. )

What was it, a pokeweed? They are everywhere, and I actually think they are pretty attractive when they have their berries. I think I actually considered eating the berries as a kid.

Yeah. They do look cool once they turn that purple color.

Sure you have seen these everywhere.. http://njaes.rutgers.edu/weeds/weed.asp?mullein1. I have this desire to plant them in a giant mass. Their fuzziness is very appealing to me.

Yeah I love nature. The other day I went out to get the morning newspaper at the end of the driveway and there was a young buck eating apples under the tree and I walked right past him expecting him to run but he didn't he just watched me from about 60 feet away until I got back to the house and then he took off but didn't go far just to meet up with another young deer.

There was a huge thunderstorm today, and I just laid on the couch for hours watching the rain fall down and listening to the thunder and lightning crash. I love it.

Hah, yeah, there are a few growing across the street near an abandoned building owned by the state. I love those things.

I'm Pagan, but athiest. So basically the only time I feel spiritual at all is in nature. The way I see it is we're all part of nature. We all came from the same Big Bang; a tree, a cow, a person. Everything is equal. Mother Nature gave birth to all of us. When we die, we become part of the Earth again. I'm no more important than anything else on Earth. This attitude probably contributed to my decision to become vegetarian. It's great because when I'm hanging out with people in the woods nearby I feel so much more comfortable. I look at a huge ancient tree and my anxiety feels so insignificant. I calm right down.

I like these, too! And, the poke weed. I love being out in nature. It makes me feel calm. I am lucky that my apartment looks out onto a wooded area. This morning I saw an opossum, eight white-tailed deer, and a rabbit. I have also seen armadillos, roadrunners, owls, bats, and many other things from my window. This morning it had rained and there were clouds in the sky and lots of humidity in the air. When the rising sun hit the clouds, pink light reflected off of the clouds and the water vapor in the air and it seemed to turn the air pink. It was such a neat effect. It only lasted a few minutes so I felt really lucky to have seen it.
