a friend is putting on a party. i don't want to be lame and show up without a costume since a)people will bug me about it and b)i'll seem like a prude.
last year i went with my brother as 'team rocket' (you know, from pokemon..) and it was a bit fun though slightly embarrassing. having a coordinated costume with someone else is a good idea but i don't know if i can do that.

i was thinking maybe a character from a comic book/graphic novel. i like death from the sandman series but i bet a lot of people will think i'm just being goth which would be kind of lame.

i'm sure this would also be a very good exposure for my SA if i went ahead with it.

any ideas?

Spiderman and Mary Jane...if you're going with a guy. Although you would have to stay by spiderman or you would just look like a regular girl.

Pretend to be ambiguously "ethnic" and go as Psylocke. If that's too revealing a costume, then you can always go with Captain Britain...

I was thinking of going as The Comedian from Watchmen, but I couldn't justify shelling out $60 for one night. Besides, I'm too "ethnic" for that.

Maybe a lady pirate... or a male. Yeh, I was a "dude" pirate last year. Drew on a fake beard, bought an eye patch at Wallyworld, wore an old, frilly blouse with jeans, vest, and bandanna with a big dangly earring. Heh, pretty scary indeed!!! (But it was cheap.)

I always go as Death because I never know of any Halloween parties until like the day before, so I have to throw something together. Everyone thinks I'm goth Cleopatra or vampire Cleopatra or something. It's close enough.

EDIT: Once I ran into a Dream. Best Halloween ever.

i think i'd like to dress up as a flapper. i've always loved that look and now is my only chance! the make-up will look like a bit much on me and i'd really have to improvise being broke and all, but i can maybe do it. whatever i dress up as i will feel unsure of it and very awkward so i'm betting i'll need a fair amount of liquid courage that night to attend the party, heh.

hmmm i was thinking of little red riding hood actually. the original version of the story is awesome and this will be easy since i probably just need a red cape/hood. i was going to make cupcakes anyway so the basket will come in handy too.

i need reassurance on these things, what do you people think ?

i was lazy today and only went to one value village and didn't even get anything for either costume (but i did hand in an application

I agree. Cupcakes should be the priority. Whatever happens after that is secondary.

And depending on what kind of party you're going to, you could just wear frosting.
