![]() I'm craming for an exam tomorrow, and I need help with this specific problem. - Diagostic Tests: Total Calcium. Over the past several months, an adult patient has been treated for tetany (severe muscle spasms). This condition is associated with an average total calcium level below 6 mg/dl. Recently, the patient's total calcium tests gave the following readings 9.3 8.8 10.1 8.9 8.4 9.8 10.1 9.9 11.2 12.1 These are the answers the professor gave for this data - n = 10 xbar= 9.95 and s=1.02 mg/dl My question is - How did he arrive at 1.02 mg/dl for s?

Assuming 's' is standard deviation, I don't understand how your professor got 1.02, since I got 1.1266. I also noticed that his mean value is off; I got 9.86, which I think attributes to the wrong standard deviation.
