Question Geocaching?

Just wondering if there are any geocachers here. I started a few months ago and love it. I would recommend it for anyone who likes being outdoors or just wants to get out and get some exercise. If you don't know what it is, here's a link to the official website. http://www.geocaching.com/

As a geographer I am rather embarassed to say no. I would like to sometime, but need to find myself a GPS first (lack of cash). I really like treasure too.

What happened to old fashioned orienteering? I love treasure hunts, but it would have to be the kind of hunt that doesn't require a GPS.

Wow, there are several within walking distance of my house. If I ever walked around maybe I'd look for them.

Yeah, I think those days are over. Techonology rules everything these days. You could go geocaching without a GPS, however. If you already know the general location, you can look at a satellite map to get your bearings. It makes it a lot tougher, because they're usually hidden fairly well and often in rough terrain.

Some are actually easy enough to find without a GPS. They have different ratings of difficulty.
