Does anyone prefer fictional characters to real people?

I always watch films or read books with characters in that sound completely awesome, and I wish I had friends like them, but people in real life tend to always disappoint me and let me down. I know this is because people in real life are more three-dimensional and not likely to always be good, but it still frustrates me. Does anyone else experience these thoughts?

Yep all the time. I think it would be so much easier if people were like those I've read about in books. Their flaws are easily ignored where as in real life people tend to get stuck on all the little things.

I've been thinking about this alot lately. I feel people in general are just so complicated and that makes forming relationships with people difficult. Fictional characters most of the time, we as the audience/reader, have a lot of access to their ambitions and what they are thinking. In real life, I feel left in the dark as to what others expect from me.

I find fictional characters more likeable and easier to relate to most of the time.

Link(my avatar) from Legend of Zelda is a cooler person than pretty much anyone I know in real life.

Personally I find the crew of the Normandy are cooler than anyone I know in real life. If Mass Effect was real I would join them.

I prefer fictional characters, yes. I spend far more time watching anime and watching TV than spending time with anyone else, and fictional characters are far more fun and less exhausting to spend time with~ Plus it's more interesting to hear about their problems than sitting around listening to a real person talk about crap =_= meh.

Yeah I prefer a lot of fictional characters over people. I think it's why I love reading and writing so much.

I'm not sure if I'd enjoy having a friend that can only communicate through nods and various screams. Link is pretty awesome aside from his total lack of communication skills though.
