![]() I know it's impossible to prevent the aging process but I wonder if anyone had any recommendations for people who want to go about their life aging gracefully, lol. I think I'm at a stage in my life where I'm becoming more concerned with my skin and physical appearance...I'm 28. I'm a bit embarrased, for some reason, to be asking this question, but in all honesty, it's a serious concern of mine. Ha, ha... Please don't state the obvious...I already know that working out, not smoking or drinking, eating healthy and putting sunblock on all help to prevent or reduce the signs of aging. I already do all of these things. What I'm interested in learning about are treatments (natural or chemical-as long as it's safe) that already complement my way of life. There are so many commercial products out on the market that it's overwhelming to decide which treatment to go for. I'm tempted to try something with collagen in it, but I'm not sure if it's the way to go. Then there are the spa treatments that I'd really like to try. There's the microdermabrasion thing, but it's so darn expensive. Once in a while, I'll do a facial at home, which consists of applying steam on my face to open up the pores and then the application of a clay mask. I also do exfoliation and apply an astringent on a daily basis, but I don't feel like it does enough for my skin, not what I want it to do. I'd like it a lot softer and healthier-looking. My primary concerns at the moment are the eyes and the lines around the mouth, I think these are the areas that wrinkle up first...ha, ha. Anyhow, I really would like to see a professional (like at a spa), I think that would probably be the best thing to do, but I don't have the money at the moment. What are your thoughts, opinions and recommendations? What have your experiences been like at the spa, or with commercial or at home remedies? Are there certain foods that you avoid? Are there other things that you eat a lot of, like foods rich in anti-oxidants, to help prevent aging? Do you use anything for your body? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...he, he. One more thing, just in case, I don't look like a wrinkly raisin yet, I actually look younger than my actual age and in all honesty I'd like to keep it that way. I'd rather have people tell me I look younger than older. Thanks...

Go to the dermatologist and get Retin-A. Stuff from the store can't compare to prescription strength.

I use Retin-A (Tretinoin cream) but not on my face. I didn't realize it was effective on wrinkles until I did a search on it just now.

I got kind of obsessed with reading scientific studies on Retin-A's effectiveness for wrinkles. Unfortunately it's too harsh for my wimpy skin, but I'd use again if it I could.

I started using it on my skin last night...I'm so pleased, I read a lot of wonderful things online about retin-a. I didn't realize I had the solution to my skin issues right in my hand. I have oily acne-prone skin on my face (not a lot, it's very minor) nevertheless, the retin a should clear it up and help out with the wrinkles. It does all sorts of other wonderful things too. Since my skin isn't sensitive, it should work just fine on me. Thanks a million...
What are you currently using on your skin, if you don't mind me asking?
