apologies if this has already been posted about, but it just touched me seeing the video of what this woman went through. it made the news here in the uk.

absolutely shocking, but hey kids will be kids right? yeaaahh

no wonder people get SA if they're subject to this cr*p at school, cos the exact same thing will be happening to kids every day u can be sure of that, just with most their hell isn't caught on video and recognised by others.

NO-ONE deserves to be treated like this, a fund was started to raise $5000 for her to take a nice holiday, its since raised over $120,000, sounds about right to me

I saw it and I felt bad for her. Being a victim of bullying myself, I could put myself in her shoes. However, some of the people are taking a little too far. People are issuing death threats to these boys and harrassing them. The public is outraged because these kids were bullying her, but how is what they are doing any better then what the boys did? They've been punished by being suspended from school for a year, the bus, and they are doing 50 hours of community service for the elderly and they have to participate in an anti-bullying program.
It's not up to anyone else to punish them more by harrassing them. I was angry when I saw that video, but I was angry as well to hear that people are threatening them. And I am willing to bet the people who are threatening them are adults who should know better.

Of course I sympathize with anyone who has been bullied and to an extreme degree. I was bullied throughout Middle School. But I have to say the whole anti-bullying bandwagon the country is on is getting annoying. Bullying has been happening for CENTURIES and it's not going to end. Everyone is more focused on punishing the bully instead of teaching kids self-esteem and how to stand up for themselves. People are going to talk negatively about you until you die.

Actually, it was stopped at over $660,000. (That's a bit over 320,000 pounds for you guys).

The boys were each suspended from school for a year and had to have to take mandatory classes on bullying.

They didn't feel that it was enough to expel, I guess.
It is still on their transcripts.

I never heard about the girls. I think it was targeted at the boys since one of them had the camera and three boys behind him were doing the taunting.

I am not sure the girls were doing anything - the video would have to be analyzed. Otherwise, any girl involved would have been under investigation, too.

i don't think it was that type of deal, but yeah she is lucky in a way-to have it recognised. the tragedy is it happens every day to 'silent' victims, and they are truly on their own, they don't get anything, maybe not even believed (if they dare speak up that is)
