Is it just me or are new cars getting uglier with every next generation? And I'm not talking about sports cars and coupes like the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S. I'm talking about mid-class and econoboxes. IMO, they looked better in the late 90's/early-mid 00's. I just don't enjoy new cars anymore, almost all of them are trying to make their headlights so big as to reach side mirrors. They look like stretched/melting.

Actually, I think cars are getting better looking on average.

LOL, I agree that some cars seem like they are getting uglier... although I'm not sure if the ones you suggested are ones I would pick out as "blech ugly". It'll be interesting to see how trends continue to change. In my opinion, there are just too many big, oversized cars that all look the same... so some diversity might be nice.

Yes, I can't think of many good looking new cars apart from super cars. Everything seems to have a weird shape nowadays. I prefer cars from the late 80s and the 90s.

Those are only a few examples of...extremely and very crappy cars.

I think Fords are improving. Not crazy about Chevy -- but some of their's are improving as well. Saturns and Kia's -- some are nice.
Sports cars....foreign cars...there are lots of varieties.

Not I don't think cars are getting fatter and uglier. That's ridiculous.

I hate European-esque car design on new Kias, Hyundais and Japanese cars. I miss the times when they did their own thing and when they didn't employ European designers. Although I'm European, I don't like European cars and European car design at all.

Maybe I'm just not that picky. I could live with any of them as long as they were in good shape and didn't break down all the time.

Many cars are getting a lot plainer.

I can't stand all the crossovers that most automakers are coming out with right now.

But, I like a lot of the new Ford cars. The 2013 Fusion looks very nice
