Default Anyone have Lumineers or Venieers on their teeth?

I was looking into getting lumineers, Mabye Venieers but I like the lumineers better. My teeth are fine I just want a great smile like the "hollywood" type. Kinda like Britney spears-she has perfect teeth. But my question is what is your experience with them and how did it work out for you? What was the total cost?

I'm curious about this too. I don't know that I'd get veneers, but I've been thinking about bonding for some of my front teeth. Partially for aesthetics, and partially for dental health reasons.

The lumineers apparently they don't shave any of your teeth down, that's why I'm more into that than the veneers..what is bonding?

It's similar to veneers, but less expensive. I think they roughen the surface a bit for the purpose of application, but not to the extreme of veneers. I eventually might want to do lumineers since they last a lot longer, but there's no way I could afford them at this point.

I looked online and they say it's about 900-2000 a tooth that's ridiculous!

I'd suggest not doing it as your teeth look perfect to me..

So "fine" isn't fine enough?

Hollywood type = obvious dental work as teeth like that simply do not occur in nature. Such a level of perfection looks really fake.

Edit: I was inspired to take a look at your profile pics. I see you really enjoy smiling & I can't imagine how your teeth could possibly be improved. You already have a great smile.

I had braces, but I didn't wear my retainer so my bottom teeth messed up and my top teeth slightly did

Veneers make people look like Mr. Ed. If my teeth were messed up, I'd have them straightened, whitened and call it a day.

I was thinking about getting them straightened again, especially the bottom-but I don't want to go through the pain again!:-(

sometimes groupon has deals on invisalign. it's still expensive but probably cheaper than veneers if they really are $1000-$2000 a tooth. my teeth shifted too after having braces and I'm bummed about it I wore my retainer regularly for 3 years though and they still shifted after that. boo.

anyway, I would definitely consider something like that instead of veneers. I would only do something like that as an absolute last resort. your teeth do look really nice, anyway.

Wow you wore your retainer and they still shifted? The dentist wanted me to wear my retainer when I was at school and I didn't want to do that because I was embarrassed by it. Lol :-P so they shifted. But thanks for the advice I'll look into invisiline.

Invisalign is great for straightening teeth, but it wouldn't do anything for my problems. I had small teeth to begin with, but due to medical issues, I've had a bit of enamel erosion. It's not really horrible, but I'm very self-conscious about it. Veneers/lumineers/bonding is really my only option as far as cosmetic dentistry goes. I would prefer to have my teeth look like they used to around 5 years ago, but I doubt that is possible no matter what I do.
