"Who Am I" by Lou Reed.
My father was/is a huge Velvet Underground and Lou Reed fan and he used to play this song very often. We used to listen to a lot of music together and every time I hear a song by Lou it reminds me of him.

Sailing - Rod Stewart.

Young hearts run free - Candi Staton.

Lots of others too obscure for the younger generation to give a s**t about.

Praise You Like I Should by Fatboy Slim

I laugh just thinking about it. I don't know what this song reminds me of particularly, all I know is I used to flail about in the living room whenever I heard it. I also liked the music video. We're going back about seven or eight years here...

I'm Like a Bird by Nelly Furtado

Her debut album was the first CD I ever bought with my own money, and I loved her so much. I actually likeed her second album the best. I was a devout fan until she put out Loose and totally changed her flavor.

Eyes Like Yours by Shakira

I had her album Laundry Service and it was on constant rotation in my CD walkman. It was the first song I consciously tried to learn the lyrics to.

Downtown, though, I have no idea who it's by.
When I was younger that's where we always were. In the mall, old Sacramento, the river, the parks, and woolworth. Plus, I remember it playing a lot during family outings and during the few happy times I've had with family during my childhood. I miss those days.

Found it.

Also, a lot of stuff from the Beatles and BB King. My grandmother, who I spent most of my time with, listened to a lot of different music.

I'm a child of the 80s so anything by U2 (when I hear U2 it's a total time warp and I feel like I'm about 4 years old again, lol). And lots of Latin music (cos my family is half hispanic).

The Logical Song by Super Tramp

Quote:
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well theyd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or theyll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Wont you sign up your name, wed like to feel youre
Acceptable, respecable, presentable, a vegtable!

At night, when all the worlds asleep,
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Silly Songs with Larry. Those were some fun times.

And also Goodnight and Go by Imogen Heap. It makes me think of coming home from first grade on one of those wet and grey Willamette Valley fall afternoons and watching Arthur. I'm not really sure why that is, other than that it's an almost painfully bittersweet song, and so it just kinda fits with the image of those heavy-*** clouds. I know also that she's from London, and they certainly get a lot of that same weather over there, so maybe it got projected through the music or something? lol i dont kno

Totally had a time warp there. Which wouldn't have been that impressive. Also anything off the Radio Disney albums take be back about... six years.
