I've watched a lot of science fiction, but am mostly interested in horror. Great how the two cross sometimes though The alien movies are a great example. Mostly into monsters and unique creatures, so I like scifi with a lot of that

Did you like Event Horizon? Or Sunshine? Not sure if Sunshine can really be classed as "horror" but I wish the last third of the film had been done differently.

I'm a fan of Doctor Who, but mostly only the new stuff. I did watch some of the older stuff way back when i was a kid, can't remember very much tho.

I liked Event Horizon - it's not going to go on my fav films list but was entertaining. Sunshine was a lot better, though i didn't much like the last third or so either. Was amazing til it devolved into generic horror.

I read the Foundation books a long time ago and have extensively watched most of the prolific Sci Fi stuff - Trek, B5, Dr Who, Firefly & the new Battlestar Galactica.

For me the pick of the bunch is Babylon 5. Although some of the incremental dialogue could be utterly awful, it told the most detailed, intense and compelling story ever attempted in the genre on TV.

Firefly is a close second - superb characters and and brilliant mix (imo) of sci fi and western which lends it a Star Warsy feel. Also felt that the concept of 'soundless' outer space and the absence of lightspeed or hyperspace worked outstandingly well.

I hope so, I've not seen it yet, will try to get a copy online later. I really like the original V, "V: The Original Miniseries". I thought that later V stuff )Final Battle, etc.) was pretty poor. That Babylon 5 guy wrote a script for a proposed V sequel series some years back, which was a good read.

I saw all the star wars movies, they were pretty cool.

I really love this show they play on the Sci-Fi channel. It's called 'The Ghost Whisperer' It's a mix of a horror type show and science fiction. It's one of my favorite shows on television.

Wow, I'm dumb. I had no idea Serenity couldn't go faster than light. So the whole show happens in one solar system. Another thing it has in common with Cowboy Bebop. If you like Firefly you should check it out.

He was also Wash on Firefly and Alpha on Dollhouse. Anna was also on Firefly.

Torrents suck. I use this to find tv shows: http://www.yidio.com/show/v/season-1...e-1/links.html

Usenet ftw.

If you don't know what usenet is that's probably a good thing.

Finally have V now. Just started to watch it, but sadly have to go soon so can't watch the whole thing. Looks good though.

Im not sure how many people would be interested, but on the itunes store (at least the American one) they are giving away the pilot episode of that show 'V'.

I just wish it would download faster so I could watch it sooner. It looks good.

I just finished watching it. It was pretty good. But the pace was really fast. The original shows paced the whole story down more, brought more life into the characters by widening their scopes/relationships--including the aliens.

This seems more like a hollywood blockbuster rather than a tv drama. I just hope they don't run out of story because of it.

I was a big fan of "V" when it came out. I even saw the latter episodes after The Final Battle. I used to have a "V" lunchbox, alien replica watergun, and collected the stickers in the official "V" sticker album. It's also why I have to be very careful in giving this 2009 series its fair shot. I'm trying hard not to judge every little detail versus the original. Another thing: I was reading the Wikipedia entry about the show and they mentioned it was a political take on Obama and his administration. Pure Hogwash! I knew this show was in development long before he was elected.

Yeah, I felt the same when watching the first episode. I don't think I like it enough to continue. It was cool seeing the actor Alal Tudyk (Firefly) and Joel Gretsch (4400) in the show.

Anyone watching Stargate Universe? I watched most of the episodes in one night. I'd give it a try even if you didn't care for the previous series because this one seems different than the other 2.

I can recommend some russky sf books if you want.
