Yeah, that's what us "rich" guys do. We take credit cards exclusively for the purpose of earning a $50 bonus for making a first purchase. My first & only purchase was $1.37. I'll cancel the card as soon as the money hits my bank account.

Doesn't that tarnish your credit history? I had a pathetic $150 line of credit for a clothing store once, and I only applied for the card because I got 20% off of the purchase I made that day. When I found out that they were charging me $10 per month for that credit card for some "identity protection service" that wasn't mentioned in the agreement anywhere, I paid the balance and canceled the card. Although my credit report says that it was closed in good standing, my mother tells me that opening and closing credit lines like that doesn't look good. She used to be a credit associate or something back in the '90s before the role of the computer forced the MS-based company she worked for to close. Still, though. I imagine she's not completely retarded about credit-related things.

I haven't seen it, either, and I avoid seeing her as much as possible, though I did get a laugh when she got that pole through her forehead in House of Wax, but when she pops up in the headlines all the time it's hard not to notice what she's up to.
