Default Life Lessons from RPG's

I used to play MMORPG's quite a bit, although I lost most of my interest over the last couple of years.

Anyway, I realized that there are some very valuable life lessons you can learn from playing them, and I was wondering if anyone else feels this way.

Life Lesson #1:
"Jack of all trades, master of none" becomes burned into your brain every time you create a character or gain a new skill.

Life Lesson #2:
Life is a grind interspersed with random excitement. The trick is to convince yourself that this is fun.

Life Lesson #3:
It's all about groups.

Any more?

All this talk of games makes me want to start playing an RPG again. Must refrain..

I definitely agree with life lesson #1, haha.

You gotta do a lot of camping before you can survive on your own?

And this goes for free to play games...

Money is power.

Quote 1 reminds me of Zack from FFVII for some reason.

How about, Don't walk in world maps without potions and weapons equiped? Which translates to real life > Don't leave the house without your keys and money.

In life, there are many random encounters. Some leave no reward and others, a great treasure

...

I dunno, just thought of it on a whim.

I make a lot of correlations between the power structure in the on-line communities/mmos i've participated in and my current work place. interesting how humans take their egos and dramatic power struggles with them wherever they go, and funny how i experienced it all in games before RL.

JRPG's: 2 rooms divided by a solid door that can't be opened. On one side there's the story element and on the other is the gameplay, the two never meet.

JRPG's have a loooong ways to go...

I dunno about useful, but I once found myself thinking, "I need some more money...what can I sell?"
