Default Cirque Du Freak-Vamp Assistant Piss u OFF?

Ok, so for all I know none of you would know what I'm talking about, none of you have probably read the book, but whatver I'm gonna take the chance and see if anyone has read the books

So has anyone read The Saga of Darren Shan, the Cirque du Freak books?

I started reading them in like 8th grade????-was it that far back, wow-so yeah, I started reading the series like 7 years ago, and I still haven't finished the series-I think I got up to like the 8th book, which I read like 2 years ago, I think....So anyways, I was excited when I heard that Cirque du Freak, The Vampire's Assistant was having a movie coming out-I think it opens tomorrow, and but then, I read like a week ago on a blip on Verizon Yahoo, that it was gonna having a motherf#cking comedic edge to it!

Reading that sh*t pissed me the f#ck off! The book did have a couple jokes and sh*t in it but overall, it was a dark book, and if any of you read the series, you know that. I mean, the whole backstory of Darren Shan, how he became a vampire, the thing w/his sister, the the thing with his best friend, it's all dark and dramatic and tragic

And seeing the trailer for the movie pisses me off even more! I can't believe that these people did that to the movie-they turned the story into happy go lucky story of adventure, and how fun and exciting it is to be a vampire-These are teenage boys, why are they wearing leather jackets, and **** and having their hair slicked back, why the f#ck is mr. crepsely all glam'd up with makeup and big orange curly hair-if I remember correctly from the book, he was an old *** looking dude, skinny, long wrinkly face, he'd been thru ****, what the f#ck???????

I just hate how they turned this tragic dramatic story of Darren Shan into a somewhat lighthearted adventure-the reality of how Darren Shan's life becomes in the books is a lot harder than how glamorous and adventurous the movie is making it, his life changes so much when he becomes a vampire, and the movie is making a big mistake by making light of that......

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about-anyone else read the books???????

You definitely make me want to read these books. I'd heard of them, but never actually read them.
The movie, to me, seems like a light-hearted children movie. I wouldn't think there was any darkness or tragedy behind it. I can see how it can make you upset. This is why I always shutter and get angry when they turn books into movies because, most of the time, they water down the story so much it's just barely recognizable to someone who has read the books.

yeah it's a really good series of books-I mean , in "Cirque du Freak" book which is the first book in the series, it starts out "lighthearted", some comedy or whatver cuz its the beginning, Darren Shan is not yet a vampire at this point-and then, when all of it goes down, thats when it gets darker and tragic for Darren's life, and gets even darker as the series progresses-,

- cuz I mean, these are vampires we're talking about...,and what happens in the Cirque Du Freak itself-...also there's a whole vampire society ..... there's "good" vampires like Crepsley and Darren and then there's others who are just evil, there's enemies, there's action, there's betrayal, there's so much sh*t that happens as The Saga of Darren Shan Series of books progresses, as Darren's life progresses, it just makes you feel for him-

Even though it's in the Young Adult section(the teenagery section), not the Fiction section, its definitely not some children's story as the trailer makes it out to be, so at this point, I'm guessing this is one of those instances where the books are infinity times better than the movie

-each time I finished one of the books, I was always hoping there was another one coming out after it, and there always was- Like I said before, I still havent finished the series, the last time I checked there were one or 2 books left that I had to read, and since then, I think the author concluded the series, but I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right-it's been awhile

I read the books when I was really young (didn't finish the series though, I don't think. I don't remember too much about them), and I thought it was great.

The movie will of course not live up to the books, as they never do. I'll probably go see it though, as I enjoy looking at John C. Riley's face.

But you as a fan should view this in a positive light. Will the movie suck? Possibly. But it will make other people want to read the books. Hopefully young children, not suspecting anything horrific to happen.

Doesn't that make you feel better?
