Are you excited about the new album, coming out in 11 days? How do you feel about the split and the new drummer?

I have to confess, I haven't listened to any of the leaks or snippets yet, but I am definitely looking forward to the new album. I have it preordered!

They're a great live act as well.

I'm not a big fan of them but I do have one of their albums. I didn't know they are coming out with a new album I'll probably check it out now though

Used to be a huge fan, forgot about them for a long time. Then saw them live recently and the addiction is back

Not so much looking forward to the new album, I thought the last one was a disappointment to

I'm slightly curious, but not too much. I've kinda lost interest in them over the years, but with the new drummer I'll see how this one turns out.

September also has a ton of other new releases coming out:

Anthrax
Primus
Opeth
Mastodon (hopefully with a much better one than their last)
Wolves In The Throne Room
Machine Head
Biohazard
Steven Wilson (never really been into PT, but I'm kinda interested in this one)

Should be a good month!

Yeah, in fact I re-visited Blood Mountain the other day and found it much better than what I initially did. Then again, I've always championed Remission above all the others.

mmm Remission is one I still need to look at more. I'm not huge on that Sludge Metaley sound but I remember it having moments I really liked.

This must have been a mentally tough role for Mr. Mangini to step into. He said in one of the videos that he was friends with Portnoy. How good of friend he is, I don't know.

This entire situation has been a little difficult to accept for me. I'm still looking forward to the new release, but will miss the collaboration and talents of MP.

Well, it leaked today, and it is freaking awesome!

It sounds like Images and Words mixed with Systematic Chaos and Train of Thought. That's the sound it has, and it sounds like they didn't change at all.

The new drummer is good, too. It doesn't sound like they had changed drummers at all! It sounds like Mike behind the drums.

All in all, a good album. I'd highly recommend buying it when it's released.
