Default Anyone else bummed out about the new Fall shows?

There's not anything I'm interested in. Just lots of 'The Office'-like shows, family sitcoms (they disappeared for a few years and now the schedule is filled with them again), oversaturation of late night comedy/talk shows, and serial science fiction/disaster type shows that are aiming ot be the next 'Lost.'

What happened to 'Life on Mars' from last year? It had A-list actors, social relevance, a mysterious storyline that made you anxious to see the next episode, and great music. It had cops who were actually interesting characters and didn't wear shades all the time while listening to pounding TR-808 beats in the forensics lab.

I think the people running the TV networks get their jollies by torturing viewers with creative, extremely addictive serial shows and then canceling them before all the loose ends are tied up. And then put on shovelware like 'I Survived a Japanese Game Show' 'Big Bang Theory' and 'Home Makeover Extreme Edition' in its time slot. Are they really that twisted or just retarded?

They cancel good cartoons like Ren & Stimpy and replace them with a knockoff of Family Guy (which was a knockoff of the Simpsons) except it has black people and a King of the Hill clone about liberal white people instead of rednecks. And another version of NCIS. These shows weren't that good in the first place and don't warrant spin-off versions.

The only shows I enjoy anymore are the Mentalist, Dexter, Law & Order, and Craig Ferguson. I miss Life on Mars, Heroes (first seaon), and Dirty Sexy Money. The mid-2000s were the bee's knees, then the writer's strike happned and it hasn't been the same since. Maybe I need to give more cable shows a shot.

Community is decent. I like Thursdays on NBC... I don't bother with anything else.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is my favorite show of the season right now. I've died laughing at all four episodes. I think Community is pretty good so far, I'm following it.

Im mad that they canceled Southland because it was to 'gritty.'

I usually stick to Thursdays on Fox for Bones, and Fridays on CBS for Numb3rs.

I don't even watch television that much, so I really have no idea what's on or what will be coming on.

I do watch The Office, Heroes (which I just started getting into), and Law and Order, though. I hear Glee and Community are good. I will be happy for 'good' family sitcoms because I am sick and tired of reality television.

I agree that television is not good, lately, except for a few good shows.
And I especially hate when a good show comes on and it lasts one or two seasons, then it's canceled and what comes on? A reality show or a copy of a good show that is nowhere near as good as what it's copying.

I usually don't watch TV when the shows are airing...I typically download them later, if I hear from someone that the show is good. The only two TV shows I've watched on actual TV were Prison Break and Lost.

The canceled it because they want Leno on 5nights a week and because apparently its to dark and gritty. The producers said they're looking for a new network.

No, I'm not really bummed out. You should give some shows a chance. You might be surprised.

Most of the new fall shows don't look very promising. I don't know what I'm going to watch when all of my favorite shows are over. This is the last year for Lost and probably Supernatural. Dexter and The Office have to end sooner or later.
I do want to see 'V' I think it's premiering in November. I don't know if it will be any good..I'm tuning in for Elizabeth Mitchell who I loved on Lost.

I haven't seen any new shows that interest me enough to check them out so far this season which is very unusual.

This is just the start of a huge problem for NBC. With Leno taking that spot each night, there is simply no room for the edgier dramas. Soon, all that network will be is fluff.

I'm hoping they move it to CBS, which seems to be the home for dramas, you got Numb3rs, the CSI's, NCIS.

With a show like Southland, I would guess somewhere on cable. Maybe not like HBO or Showtime, but something like AMC (probably not AMC, but a network like that).

I found two shows to check out the other day Modern Family and Cougar Town, I chuckled a few times during each but not enough to make me want to watch either of them again.

The new series V is coming up Nov. 3rd, I'm going to check it out only because I remember the mini series.

I watched the premiere of 'White Collar' Friday and I think this one could grow on me. It a heck of a lot better than prime time Jay Leno at least.
