Default UEFA Champions League

It's that time of year again the group stages have been drawn so you know the script.
Who do you want to win the Champions League and or Who do you think will win ?

Chelsea look to be the best bet considering how close they came last season and the new players they've got in. And Scolari of course. They've got a pretty straight-forward group as well so they should get off to a good start. But I hope they don't win it. I also hope it's not an all English final again.

Man United are my team. I'm looking forward to the Celtic ties.

**** AS Roma! Those *******s were the easiest bet on the table today, and they blew my ****ing ticket! Nobody had heard of CFR Cluj until today.

Haha, thanks for reminding me to bet. I might put a couple of quid on BATE to beat Real Madrid.

Why is there always just one team who ****ing kills my bet every goddam matchday?!

Hey Celtic... **** YOU! All you had to do was either score a goal or not defend Senna's set piece so ****ing brutally!

Tomorrow, I'm relying on Sporting, Barcelona and Chelsea to score victories and PSV and Liverpool play to an ugly draw. Despite my loyalty to the red and white army, I know they need to pull one out of their asses to even draw at Anfield. Here's hoping for a typical lucky goal and defend, defend, defend!

Vooruit nu Rood-Witten!

What the **** is with certain managers not starting their best goal scorers? The point of playing is to score more goals than your opponent, so why the **** would Celtic leave Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink on the bench until the 80th minute and why the **** would PSV leave Danny Koevermans on the bench until they're down 2 or 3 goals? These players should be STARTING! They're not Manchester United, who have the luxury to choose between Berbatov and Tevez.

As for Cluj, I'll pin today's draw more on Chelsea sucking scrotum. I'm still not convinced Cluj can get through to the next round, but I think I will leave their match in Bordeaux in 3 weeks off my ticket. I know that the second I lay it down on them, they're going to get smoked.

Sorry but you only have yourself to blame i'm afraid.

Something like 16 away games 15 defeats and 1 draw , what on earth made you think that would change especially against a well drilled team like villareal .

As much as i feel for you one team i wouldn't bet on getting an away win is celtic that's for sure .

I bet on a draw, and had it not been for such poor defence on that set piece, it would have likely stayed 0-0. That, and when they did go down, how do they wait 13 minutes to put their best goal-scorer on?

^I went to the game last night. It was great. "Are you Rangers, are you Rangers, are you Rangers in disguise? Are you Rangers in disguise?" Haha. Sorry.

It was a bit easy though. I don't think you were completely terrible, but United were just too good. The linesman didn't have a good night with two (possibly) offside goals allowed, and one onside goal disallowed, but it didn't really matter in the end. It's a shame it's pretty much over for you though. I always like Celtic to do well in Europe. Your fans were great last night as well.

It was a good European night overall. Lots of goals scored, Juventus beat Real Madrid, and, though it didn't mean anything in the end, Silvestre scored an own goal to try and help out Fenerbache - he's still a red, haha. Now lets just hope Atletico Madrid can do something tonight.

Haha yeah it was ashame celtic quite simply couldn't afford to compete to put it simply which is ashame cos they always try and put on a show regardless of who they are up against but yeah last night simply highlighted the ever increasing financial gulf between the premiership and well.......the rest of the world really.
But not to take away anything from united who were worthy winners and lets be honest coulda won by 5 or 6 and are serious contenders to challenge for the trophy again this year.
So yeah i just hope our lads put on a better show in a fortnight and maybe have a few strikers back from injury if not for themselves then for our passionate supporters who sang their hearts out til the last minute even when they were 3-0 down.

A good night for Roma , A bad night for PSV and a good game from Liverpool and Athletico (even if the penalty was a bit suspect ).

Ah well tomorrow probably holds a whooping for Celtic lets just hope they actually make an effort this time though.

"A bit"? Gerrard did his best Cristiano Ronaldo impression. It makes me sick that he's once again seen as Liverpool's "saviour" in the Champions League. Atletico was robbed.

This thread is lucky that PSV **** the bed though and pretty much sealed up last place. Had PSV not lost, I would be a lot more pissed off about Gerrard's dive that caused both Liverpool and Atletico to get a point.

It's just not PSV 's year in all honesty which is ashame cos they are hollands only representatives this year .
But that should not take anything away from the fact that they have consistently reached the last 16 for the last three years or so , so yeah i'm sure they'll be back stronger next year.

Liverpool are the luckiest c*nts out there. I hate to see them win at any time but especially when they don't deserve it. All their comebacks and revivals in the Champions League over the past few seasons have been f*cking annoying. The 4-2 win over Arsenal at Anfield last season was particularly sickening.

Anyway, enough of my bias. I'm looking forward to the Celtic v United game tonight. It's always tough to go to Celtic Park but hopefully we'll play well and it'll be a good game.

Phew! Well, it was a good game. I'm happy enough with a draw even though we had about a million chances to score. McDonald's goal was brilliant. It was definitely a better showing from Celtic than at Old Trafford, and the home support was amazing. I can't believe Berbatov's miss right at the last second.

Anyway, everyone drew in our group so the positions are still the same. I think that's probably how it will finish as well. Villarreal away will be tricky though.

I can't wait til we play Aalborg. My mum's boyfriend's son lives in Aalborg and I've just been told he's coming over from Denmark with six friends to watch the game at Old Trafford. And they're all staying at our house! That should be fun.
