Why would you be happy to see Torre lose? He was the best manager your Yankees ever had and letting him go is the reason the Yankees missed the playoffs this year.

It was a horrible season, no denying that, but everyone seems to emphasize Torre's impact on the team like he was the sole purpose they ever succeeded. |

A friend of mine is a huge Phillies fan so I am rooting for them. They must beat the Rays. The words "World Champion Tampa Bay Rays" better never ever be uttered. So... yeah Phillies better win.

And you give so many excuses for the Yankees troubles. Every team faces injuries, it is part of the game. But what other team would be able to just trade for Ivan Rodriguez right after Posada is out for the season? Cano did not have as bad as season as his statistics indicate, as he only had a really bad April, but throughout the rest of the season he kept a .300+ batting average. And you are going to have players with off years, on any team. But then what about Johnny Damon's surprisingly good 2008 campaign? No one expected that. Or Giambi coming through with a pretty solid year. In the end it seems to balance itself out. I mean, look at the Red Sox. They got very poor production from their ace pitcher because of injuries. They lost their best hitter at the trade deadline, and their 3 hitter (Ortiz) was not himself all season long due to recovering from a surgery. Not to mention Jason Varitek having his "worst season as a pro", and Mike Lowell facing injury issues. But you know what? They were able to come within one game of the World Series despite all of that. Bottom line, a team with a payroll like the Yankees should not be making excuses about their bad seasons, because they have an advantage over every team in the league. They just have a really bad front office, and don't know how to build a team that consistently produces talent. Okay, they DID know how to do that, but now they are just a mess. I hope this trend continues, and they miss the playoffs yet again next year. Oh, and GO PHILLIES!! I hate the Rays! For two reasons: they beat the Red Sox, and 90% of their fans jumped on the bandwagon this past month. There are at least many hungry, deserving Phillies fans out there.
