It does get annoying when there are teen "sensations" getting multi million dollar deals and become celebrities. But people want to see fake people.
As long as people worship them, there will always be young "stars". Its mostly about image. You only need a slight amount of talent if you have a "great" image. |

I agree wholeheartedly. "Older" women have so much to teach us about life. Maybe it's because I'm over 40 but I've laways thought women are very intriguing when turn 40 and can stop competing in the "dumb-girl" olympics that society has become.

I agree, blc1. It's crazy. It's almost as if we're going backwards. If Katherine Hepburn had been born in the 1960s rather than 1907, I wonder if she would have got the chance to continue acting for as long as she did. She was 74 when she made "On Golden Pond". But would a film like that even be made today? You'd think that the feminist movement of the 1960s would have encouraged people to assess women on the basis of more substantial things than youth and looks, but it's almost as if they're valued more for their youth and looks now than before.

I agree. All these people are going crazy over Miley Cyrus...what does she have to offer, besides bubblegum? No musical talent and no acting talent, just sit there and look pretty.
It was the same thing with Britney Spears and all the boy bands in the 90s. We need real talent in the entertainment industry, not just a bunch of talentless pretty faces.
