Default GOALS- Big or small

I wanted to start this thread here because I think it will be a good motivational break for us all to share. What are your goals be that big or small, it all counts for something. I will start:

*Make more healthy eating choices. Be more active. ( get healthy, as my goal is to be healthy and not an ideal weight ).

* Love thyself ( i suffer with depression and I tend to be really hard on myself )

* Finding a suitable job ( F/T preferrably ).

* Moving out!

* Go back to school and actually finish up a semester w/o drops or withdrawals and above C grades.

* Find contentment and some joy in this harsh life of ours.

* Humor, laugh more!

* Forgive and also be in good terms with family

That's it for now, maybe it will grow, this list...

Take small steps to socialize more. I have started by going out to eat with a coworker once a month.

Right now a big goal is to get financially stable.

Small goal is to get through another summer season as a children's/teen librarian.

  • Try and leave the world a better place than when I found it.
  • Find the motivation to continue study.
  • Try and find positive, helpful things to say in the forums.

  • Smile more.
  • Eat better. I live on terrible food and make up for it with tons of exercise. I'd feel much better if I cooked for myself.
  • Try to figure out how to make these cool bullets without cutting and pasting.

I would like to stop worrying about every little thing. Lately, I have found myself worrying about worrying! Kind of sad, if you think about it.

Good big and small goals! I've always wanted to become a librarian. I don't know, I feel like I'm too late in the game to do so. I envy your profession

This thread could really be something. It is not always about having big goals and trying to conquer the world. Sometimes it is really powerful and uplifting to accomplish "small" things.

A few of you mentioned eating better. That is something I have been doing for a long time, so I might have other goals. Like maybe trying to smile more or say "hi" or "good morning" more often.

Also, I think we need a better way of looking at goals, rather they are big or small. If we do reach that goal, it is not the end, it is just another step. The journey continues. More is still to come. So how can we use goals, or how can we look at reality in a way that really helps us to keep going?

I think you must start with a goal, be it big or small. That would be the first step. When you complete a goal it will boost up your confidence and get you going on the next one. By completing something you automatically want to keep going as you then know it is possible and that is where HOPE lies. We begin to trust in hope and for me that is my strength in everyday living. Hope is my motivation to keep on keeping on.

Also, I begin to build my self-esteem and self-worth. You find ways to love yourself as well, which is always a great thing! It begins and ends with you, and that is reality.

Thank you purplekicks, I am gradually socializing more and more and also forming more friends at work and hopefully these friendships will expand to socializing outside of work in time. The friend that I eat out with she invited me to come to her house to visit so in time she may become a friend that I socialize with both at work and outside of work as well.
