Default Do you like your picture being taken?

I decided when I was fairly young I didn't care for having my picture being taken. Of course this was in the days when film was king and a picture was more of a permanent marker. You usually would have to pose to get one taken and something about that never felt right. I never did learn to do a quality fake smile. I have gotten slightly better at having one taken, but I still get that sense of despair when someone decides to click a photo of me.

I've always hated it. What's more, my grandfather always had a camera in his hand at all times. This means that there are few pictures of me as a kid where I'm not covering my face with my hand or asleep on the couch. I'm better than I used to be, though, because I realize I'll die someday anyway, so it's trivial.

Just noticed this is in the 30+ section - sorry.

I don't really mind except for the fact that I always look like a dork. I don't know how to smile, without looking like a loser.

I've always hated my pic being taken. I've ripped up many pictures of myself and gotten downright pissed at people who take my photo although I beg them not to. I haven't taken a picture of myself in years and avoid it at all costs.

I really don't understand the people who take multiple pics of themselves on a daily basis then feel the need to post them all over their websites, house, etc.

Hate it, hate it, hate it! Don't like seeing myself in a mirror let alone something that could be posted online or saved in an photo album like a picture.

I am not unattractive but for some reason I don't always photograph well. I guess that means I'm not photogenic. Thank goodness for digital cameras is all I can say.

No. I can't stand it. It's one of the reasons I hate facebook so much. I have no control over idiots taking photos of me at parties or wherever and posting them up for all to see. People I know and people I don't. And if I say no or that I don't like it they get annoyed or offended. I've seen people at work looking at pics of me because they were invited into a friend's account. And the photos stay on there for ages! They should **** off and respect my privacy. And before you tell me that I can untag them, I don't have a facebook account, and people can still see the photo regardless of it being 'tagged'.

I hate it, especially nowadays when someone can unexpectedly pull out there phone and within seconds take your picture and post it online. Truly sickening.

No, I avoid it, lol...I know that when I look at it I will immediately scrutinize and be its' worse critic, so no, but... I have to I think for family memory's sake.

Doesn't really bother me. I'm lucky in that I always photograph "well."

I do hate the whole camera phones and facebook thing though. You can be hitting a bong in the background or something, and end up on facebook for your whole family to see.

I look good in the mirror, but not in photographs usually, unless I take them myself.

I'm not sure if it would be better the other way around. Usually, in the mirror, I find myself pretty attractive. But other people's photos of me, 90% SCARY ugly. Weird how a little shift of left to right to right to left, and ability to see reflection changes it all!

Ha ha ha!

I feel the same, Banana Cream. I like how I look in most mirrors (depending on the lighting), but I look awful in photographs. My smile seems to have this weird, maniacal quality to it, like I'm going to take a bite out of the person next to me. I always look about 100 lbs. fatter too.

Its strange to look back and see how little i made it into family pictures once i hit about 10yrs old.

Everybody else seems to pop up in pictures. Cousins, brothers, and sister. But i'm nowhere to be found. I really hated taking pictures. Mostly because of my looks.

Defintately was not the photogenic type.

My brother tried taking pics of me at Thanksgiving when I wasn't paying attention. When he wasn't paying attention I deleted all of them from his camera/memory card.

yeah it's strange, i think i look pretty good when getting ready in the mirror, but someone photographs me and i look like crap lol, so i guess i'm not the most photogenic either usually. Also i gained about 30 lbs 2 yrs ago which i haven't been able to lose yet, and i haven't liked ANY of my photos since then. Hopefully this year i can focus on getting back to a healthier weight and fitness level, so i won't feel so self conscious and have to untag photos on Facebook

Ugh! I hate it. Would love to have no photos of me post childhood.
In the mirror I look ok but in any photo I look stoned and double chinned

well, my hair has mostly fallen out due to stress. My face sags due to age. My eyes droop. And I never had much of a chin. When I was a kid the orthodontist decided to have teeth pulled because he thought I would have too many teeth. Left me with the bite of a child and way too few teeth. So I have very small mouth and thin lips. Need I say more?
