It's not really so bad. . . my roommate made me uncomfortable (but maybe it was just me) so I stayed out of the room a lot, like in the library/on campus. There were lots of noisy outgoing girls in my suite but I never talked to them.
Are you living in just one room with a roommate, or one of those rooms with a kitchen? Is there a dining hall you have to go to? There was for me, and it wasn't so bad as long as I went when it wasn't crowded. . . If you have questions about anything, just ask.

I lived in a dorm for two years. It was really drab. Real noisy at all hours of the night. Multiple parties going on, and it wasn't even a 'party' dorm. You could hear people having sex all the time. There was no privacy, even if you had your own room. Everything was dark. The only advantages were that your friends were nearby, and all the dorms had these awesome tall windows. There was WAY too much drama going on between all the dorm dwellers. It got so pathetic. People would date other people in the dorm and before you know it, your ex-girlfriend is seeing your ex-best friend who once dated your current girlfriend. It's all-around really messed up.
Now I've been in an apartment for 3 months and just last week I went back to the dorms to visit a friend, and couldn't believe I lived in that ****box for two years ![]() Why, are you moving into a dorm? PS the party dorms were even worse! I know people who personally witnessed gangbangs on the elevators and water fights in the hallways. Even in my dorm, someone threw up all over the restroom floor at least every other night and the janitor took half a day to clean it up. Still, if you're desperate, it's probably a good way to go. |

I did the first year. It wasn't too bad. Luckily I roomed with a friend from high school so I already knew him pretty well. Sometimes it got noisy which sucked. Luckily I never heard any sex going on around me.

Will be moving into a college dorm on the 26th.
Thought it would be good for me to try and become more social, I couldn't stand the thought of remaining my old self by staying home and commuting. I'll try it for at least a year.
