Need help with some Government Qs

Okay so I am terrible with politics and government in general, never like it. I have some questions for a test that I do not know at all. Hoping someone can help me a bit.


First one is - Explain the relationship between Parties and State legislatures.





Second one is - Describe the five-part structure of a presidential campaign.

Explain the relationship between Parties and State legislatures.

I'm not sure what they mean by this. Members of a state legislature tend to be members of a party, but then there are also independents, so I dunno.

What? My guess would be the 1) formation of an election exploratory committee, then 2) announcing that you're running, then 3) a primary election/caucus, 4) a convention/official nomination, and then 5) the election

Don't quote me on any of these though. These questions seem unusual. The first one is very vague, and could have any number of answers. The second one also seems somewhat vague to me, and isn't bringing up any hits on Google, so I'm just guessing.

Yeah these questions where so confusing, thats why I figured I would try to ask for help. I don't know what the hell the professor is talking about. Thanks for the help though, appreciate it. =)
