I have no idea! I'm a full-time (15 hrs - 5 classes) student and I don't have a job because I have a scholarship. It's hard enough for me to manage my schoolwork with the anxiety that leads to procrastination and more stress. I would explode if I had to have a job, too.
Maybe you could get a full-time job over the summer when you're not in school and save that up to pay for expenses while you're in school? That is if you can still live with your parents or get a scholarship/grant. |

I dunno I'm still trying to figure it out. I get overwhelmed so easy and have had to drop classes to this and anxiety.

I'm not sure. I go to school full-time (16 hours) and work for 20 hours on the weekends. My grades aren't that great, so I think I'm just gonna take four classes next semester.

I manage by sleeping less (average 5-6 hours a night) and not having a social life. This is not a healthy approach but so far it is working.

I have 16 credit hours and I work 12 hours a week. Currently, I don't think it is so much of a problem of me not having the time to study, it's that I don't take the time. Take for instance, now, I have two important tests tomorrow that I haven't studied for and instead of studying I'm writing about how I'm not studying.
One thing that might help is to try and prioritize. Some classes are easier than others so they take less time, some have all the notes online so going to class isn't necessary, and some you can do well on tests just by studying lecture notes and don't really have to read the textbook. I try to figure out how every class works and tailor my approach accordingly. |

I am on my third semester, the only time I study is a couple days before a test, other than that I just take notes, rarely read what I am suppose to, and do the occassional take home assignment. right now math has been the only category of classes to ever give regular homework. I am at a CC but I think all of the classes are identical( the ones I am taking now) to the ones at U of L, my communications teacher even says that she teachers the exact same material at U of L, its just cheaper to take it at a CC. So its not because I am going to a lower class school.
Never take more than 4 classes a semester if you want it to be easy to handle, many of the teachers for completely different classes will have test within the same time frame, not always but it happens. You don't want to be stuck studying for three test that will be taken next week, especially if its one of those classes that is strictly note taking in class and the entire grade is based on tests. I have made A's and B's so far and I don't have that much motivation so keep the class count low. Honestly though, I have never took a class where I had to do the reading, they tell me I have do it, I hardly ever do it, sometimes I don't even bother, and I manage to do well. Perhaps you should choose you classes wisely, you could try that rate my professor site and pick easy ones or something. |

What I do is 1st graduated High school, then went off to college with the same job. Just 3 classes a week and I'm fine! Plenty of leisure time for me! On the other hand, I wish I have good time management and scheduled work done. Instead of doing all my homework the week its due xD

Hey Catlover,
I'm a freshman in uni. I work eight to eighteen hours per week, plus I have sixteen credit hours (Comm 101, Spanish 103.66, Chinese 101, and a general "humanities survey" course). I find time to study and do homework/reading in between classes and work. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I have at least three hours in between classes to do homework. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I go directly to work from classes, so I take advantage of the 1.5 hour in between work and my next work. On the weekends, I try to work ahead, so I will have more "free time" during the week. But I don't know how long this is going to last. I've only been in school for exactly one week. Hopefully I won't become lazy. Trust me when I say that in college, you will have a LOT more time to get your work done. You just have to manage your time wisely, and do NOT work too many hours. I know it is tempting to want to work alot of hours to make a money, but don't work more than 15-20 hrs per week, and even that is a little much. |

Im in the same boat you are...senior taking college classes... My professor assigns literally at least a book a week. I have two classes with him. I spend at least 30 hours a week reading his stuff. I actually do get by without doing the reading sometimes, and probably could do the whole class without reading (the only grades are 1 essay about a week's topic and a 24 hour take home final) but I just freak myself out and avoid the work because of my anxiety and get MORE freaked out.
Sundays I travel 3 hours 1 way to go to a 4 hour orchestra (pretty much shuts down the whole day). Tuesday I have a 1 hour class and a 4 hour class with an hour drive 1 way. With 2 other classes, practicing my viola, lessons, college apps, and a stupid senior project that is required to graduate at my school, I feel like im going to die. |

I make a schedule that plans my day from morning till midnight - and this is not just for studying, but for everything e.g. lunch-time, training, college, free time - etc, etc.
I know it's not that easy - it requires quite a bit of discipline, but if you try hard enough you can get used to it. |
