my shrink gave me some of this to take when I was ever feeling suicidal (prn). If you are feeling impulsive it will put you in coma for three days ... you won't be able to do anything apart from trying to function as a human being! really good for sleep, but don't expect to get your highest score on Galaga the next day, trust me.

That stuff turned me into a zombie. I was put on it during my senior year of high school. I was barely able to function and almost didn't graduate.

I was on it and it hurt my gallbladder and liver. Once I got off of it, the gallbladder and liver issues resolved themselves...

At the time I was on 30 mg of mirtazepine.
Dose: 25 mg of Seroquel The third of taking it made me extremely sad, I balled my eyes out for a good 3 hours. Quit taking it that day and felt way better. Good luck. |

I've been on this medication for over a year on and off. I was originally diagnosed with Biploar Disorder, but my doctors eventually decided on Schizophrenia. After quite a few months it morphed into Schizoid Personality Disorder (so says my doctors, I have quite a few). After multiple hospitalizations it was the only medication to keep me stable.
This medication definitely nerfs mood oscillation. Which is a godsend. The problem is, my mood still crashes, not as often, but definitely just as severe. It was coupled with a number of different anti-depressents (Prozac, Trazedone, Celexa), and we finally decided the best option was a combination of Celexa and Seroquel. My problems are nowhere near resolved, but much more manageable. Much better than Zyprexa without any of the scary, scary side effects.

This drug still gives me nightmares today.
When i was moved onto this drug it did absolutely nothing for me despite a long wait and increase in dosage. When i stopped taking this drug because it had no effect on me i had the most VILE adverse effects ever. Continuous vommiting every 3 hours for 3 days and EXTREMELY voilent headaches. The adverse effects themselves made me suicidal. I would NEVER EVER go back on this drug even if i was paid to. |

Seroquel it's crap, I don't like it a bit. My ex-doc believed I'm somehow psychotic, therefore I've taken up to 300mg every day for many months. Though, it had no use for my anxiety, really, and my focus and attention were a bit disturbed. I was so addicted that I couldn't sleep without it. Now, I'm free of this drug, I hate it. Oh and it's so, so expensive, although I don't pay a penny for it.
But 200mg in combination with a antidepressant is a choice for major depression, in rest it is good to deplete your dopamine levels and makes you a zombie for many weeks. Oh, and my current doc want me to take 50mg of Seroquel with 300mg of Wellbutrin, should I? Given my experience with Seroquel in different dosages in combo with Paxil, Cymbalta, Savella witch obviously didn't work I incline not to. My last 30 pieces of Seroquel 200mg were donated to the local psychiatry hospital |

even 50mg of this crap with 40mg paroxtine brought as close to suicide as i've ever been. during the day i was a very sleepy zombie. Then when it was nearly time for my next dose i would remember the most horrific ptsd nightmares from the previous night. Truly the anti-christ of drugs

I think WAY to many doctors are using Seroquel as a sleep aid, which is certainly one of its hallmarks, especially at lower doses (say under 250mg/day---usually under 100mg/day). NOWHERE is this drug approved EVEN OFF LABEL as a sleep aid/inducer, but it does works that way because it is a SUPER DUPER antihistimine. It is a SERIOUS drug for SERIOUS mental disorders---NOT a sleeping pill. It's not called an antipsychotic just because they didn't know what else to call it. Don't get me wrong, though---there are studies that have shown that Seroquel IS a good adjunctive therapy for treatment resistant depression when added to an SSRI or some of the other ADs. But NOT as a sleeping pill.
There are MUCH better and safer alternatives for sleep aids. Low doses of Trazodone would be good (25-50mg), or small doses of mirtazapine (7.5-15mg), since these are strong antihistamines as well---neither one carry the risks of Seroquel or benzodiazapines and are non-addictive-- Had to put this out there for discussion--- |

I was prescribed seroquel a few days ago, and so far, I've only taken it twice. I say "so far", but what I mean is "in total" because I'm all done with it.
My doctor started me on 25mg before bed. Both nights it's knocked me out thoroughly. No sleeping pill has ever worked this well. But despite having in excess of 8 hours of sleep both nights, I can't get out of my own way during the day. Today I drank TWO Five Hour Energy drinks. Ordinarily, one is more than enough, and sometimes I have to knock it back with an Ativan if I get too jittery. Today...it didn't even put a dent in this iron suit of fatigue. I got off Trileptal specifically because it made me dopey, and I need to be able to focus during the day. (I realize that's a trade-off with almost all anxiety/depression meds.) But this is seriously TOO MUCH. As for psychological effects...maybe it's too soon to judge after only two doses. But it would have to allow me to walk on water and raise the dead to compensate for this head-full of cement. |

Seroquel/Quetiapine is worse than garbage, it made me extremely tired and aggressive at the same time, yet I'm always very quiet/nice. I'll never take it again or any other drugs that messes with my brain.

I've suffered severe insomnia most of my life, that is basically at an end now.
Does knock me out a little longer than I'd like at times, but not being bleary eyed 24/7 feels great. On 25mg twice a day, and it seems very effective despite those being really low doses. |

Seroquel was the best medicine I've ever taken. I just remember feeling good, no anxiety, no fear, no obsessive worry about what other people were thinking about me. But it made me gain weight rapidly to the point where I couldn't walk two feet without my back hurting. Now I take Geodon, but it's just okay. I think I want to get back on Seroquel, but I'm going to have to do something to actively combat weight gain.
