Default setting up windows outlook

When setting up windows outlook, it asks you to select POP3 or IMAP from a dropdown box and it also asks you for incoming and outgoing addresses. How do you find this information? I am trying to set up an account for my school server. Thanks.

or you can dig through the "student computing" portion of you schools site

I got the information from my ISP and school help desk but still I am having so much trouble setting up the account correctly. So frustrating, the setup menu is like reading heiroglyphics.
I am getting the error "An error occured while attempting to open the Windows Address book. Unable to find WAB DLL"
what?

Why not just use gmail or the schools webmail?

Thanks but I need to use outlook because my school is moving to a different server which requires it. There was a glitch in the school system and they just informed me that they corrected it.
