Default Please please help me

I hope someone out there has an answer for me.

Is there anyway to get around a password protecting a computer? Like when you start it up and windows asks for a password? This is very important.

Yeah, there are a few ways to get around it. Are you looking for a way to do it or just wondering how secure your computer is? heh. If someone has physical access to the computer, then the windows/linux/etc password wont protect it much if they're tech savvy.

I am not sure what operating system it is but I think its vista, I will have to ask. It was my mothers computer and she recently died. For reasons I will never understand she had the computer password protected and now the family cannot get into it to see what bills she was paying online.

You could see if safe mode works. Go into safe mode before the windows screen pops up by hitting F8. Click yes when it asks if you want to log on in safe mode and log in under the admin account. Then change the password or create a new account. Reboot under normal mode.
