God has always been. No, I can't understand how God could have always existed—but that doesn't mean it isn't true! .... God is far greater than anything we see around us, and the Bible reminds us that He is "the high and lofty One ... who lives forever, whose name is holy" (Isaiah 57:15).

One reason we have difficulty understanding this is because even time itself was created by God. Before time began, God already existed! This is why the Bible calls Him "the Alpha and the Omega .... (which are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet), the First and the Last,..... the Beginning and the End" (Revelation 22:13). Part of God's greatness is that He is eternal. ..... Unlike us, He had no beginning and He has no end.

The Bible, however, also tells us another great truth about God. It is this: Before time began, He was already preparing the way for our salvation. The Bible says, "This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time" (2 Timothy 1:9). And because Jesus Christ is fully divine..... , He too is eternal—and that's one reason why we can trust Him for our eternal salvation.

I take the point made on this thread about human beings creating "God". We certainly have influenced the interpretations of the divine that are out there. Whether such people were in communication with a form of the divine or not, they influenced the way the divine is thought of within human society.

On one side, the Pope's interpretation of the Christian God influences the Catholic interpretation of the Christian God. Same kind of thing goes on with Anglican thought, Mormon thought, Evangelical thought etc.

We have aided in the creation of the divine to some extent whether the divine is actually real or not.

Which is interesting.

Or I may well be going off on one again.

I'm still waiting. I would really like somebody to prove to me God does not exist. I see far to many people on this site attacking Christians for their belief and have yet to see one person provide some proof. All I hear when this happens is " I'm a jerk and cannot stand anyone else believing differently than I do so try to ruin their day" Come on prove it to me prove that's not you I just described.

I'm not trying to attack here and it's not my goal to make you feel belittled. I just think we all could treat each other a little better. If people want to argue something that neither side can prove that's all well and fine but to try and make someone stupid for their belief is not the way to go about it. We are all struggling to get through each day and even if you disagree with someone a little kindness never hurts.
