The ASK THE DOCTOR segment, page 25, question; I THINK I'M HAVING PANIC ATTACKS BUT i DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANTIANXIETY DRUGS. I'VE HEARD BAD THINGS ABOUT THEM. IS THERE ANYTHING NATURAL I CAN DO? The magazine's psychiatrist has five very good and basic things to eliminate panic attacks. They are; 1 Exercise when feeling an attack coming on 2. Slow and deepen your breathing 3. Slow your racing thoughts by counting your breaths and "noticing" them move in out (I edited that one) 4. *MY FAVE AND THE BEST IN MY OPINION (cuz you don't have to "do" anything) ...Remember it's just a panic attack and you'll be okay. 5. Reassure yourself you'll get thru it and don't buy into negative thoughts about yourself.
