No, in my experience it makes notable difference to anything. The only thing it does, if you fry stuff in it is, after a while, makes you gag at the smell of it

I know it's really good for your hair and supposedly healthier than butter or other oils used for cooking.

I love this stuff (organic) and have plenty of uses of it (natural hair/scalp, skin, food, etc). Recently I read about others using it for "oil pulling" and might give it a try soon.[/COLOR]

For your hair at least. I apply this waxy hair product containing coconut oil that makes my hair soft. I also use olive oil and honey.

It's great externally for hair and skin. Its healthier to cook with too as it has a higher smoking point than other oils so its less prone to oxidation. I don't know if there are any benefits to eating it by the tablespoon though as some people do

Nothing is magical, but probably, yes.

I like to melt it and mix it with bio cacao powder and put it with nuts and fruits. My blood sugar is more stable than if I ate a sugar bar.

I prefer to use it as hair conditioner because I can dilute it and spray the ends... without the toxic perfume in shampoo.

I wouldn't cook with it. I use some water from bone broth and steam with a lid.

Feeling bad is a symptom of bad self care, not of being a bad person. Increase the vital nutrients that you need. Especially C, B and magnesium. Replace sugars, grains, corn, soy and chemicals by colorful vegetables, meats and fresh fats. They stabilize your blood sugar & mind. Get rid of toxic things & people. Take care, rest and you'll heal. Trust your body. Let your instincts guide you to safety. Tree Of Wolf ~

I use it on my face, it's gotten so much clearer. No more acne. That's me though, can't say it'd work for everyone else.

I use coconut oil mixed with castor oil on my hair weekly because I shed like a golden retriever and I'd like my hair to be a little shinier than it is now. It seems to be helping with both, but I haven't been doing it long enough to say for sure.

Plus my dog gets a spoonful of coconut oil mixed into his dinner every couple of days, and I cook his weekly scrambled egg in it. And I honestly don't mind the taste either, but I'm not sure how it might affect recipes that call for a different kind of oil so I'm wary of using it when I cook.

I'll try it soon. I need some type of miracle.

I use coconut milk and oil for a lot of things. I make a coconut oil tooth paste (it's good for if you have sensitive teeth) and helps kill any infections. I also make a coconut oil body scrub.

Be careful. I tried it for acne a few years back and it made it much worse. Every one is different but any kind of oil on my face has nightmarish results. 16 hour fasting really helped clear up my skin

It does work well for skin and hair. When it comes to cooking, they say the oil doesn't add a coconut flavor. but this isn't true
There will be a bit of coconut flavor so using it for certain foods like roasting vegetables can end up tasting strange. Depending on your taste preferences of course. In baking products you have better leeway.

It also solidifies at room temperature and will clog your drains if you dump it down there.Coconut water is a bit different topic but that offers electrolytes and is a good low carb alternative to gatorade.

I love the taste of it...but I notice when I eat it on a reg, my face breaks out. I get pissed because I read all this miracle ****, but it doesn't seem to be the case for me. It still doesn't stop me from sneaking in on it once in awhile.

from my own experience I can say that of course the oil is not as magic as advertised, but it really works in some cases. I like to cook with it. btw it is a source of lauric and caprylic acid. I like different oils, they calm me down and improve my CNS. I even already have a discount to buy them (http://nutritionsguru.com)
btw, the coconut oil has many side benefits, it's very good for hair mask. I make them when I have free time.
but be aware that too much oil may lead to problems.

I cook with special liquid coconut oil. Not sure about health benefits, but it is definitely easier to cook with than other oils. The liquid oil doesn't smell or taste as strong as the pure stuff. I also use virgin coconut oil to remove makeup, as my skin is too sensitive for regular makeup removers.
