Yeah, I am doing army combatives. I like it because it would really be useful in an actual fight. Aikido probably less so.

I dunno, there's a lot of grappling in Aikido, it's probably not entirely practical in a tournament or MMA kind of fight, some aspects you could use in a street fight. Besides it's not Aikido's intent to brutally mess up an opponent, but disable them with minimal damage possible. Perhaps it's more along the lines of what you want, you know how to stop someone, because it'll be unlikely you'll get in a fight, but if someone attacks you, you'd know what to do. In the end it simply depend on the skill of the fighter, physical condition, attributes, mental toughness, etc.
