Default Some small goals for October...

I'm sure I'm missing some things, but...

- Check email and websites no more than once a day.
- Spend no more than two hours a week on computer games.
- Get my personal website up and running.
- Come into work by 9:00 and write a report to myself each day how I spent my time.
- Get two of my side projects at work into a working demonstration state.
- Talk to my boss about a future career move.
- Talk to my therapist about setting up a support group.
- Get contact lenses fitted.
- Try out a tanning booth.
- Try online dating again and contact 50 women, even if it seems hopeless
- Learn to cook two new dishes.
- Get ready for my speech at Toastmasters by recording myself on video and critiquing myself. (argh, this sounds painful)
- Find a travel agent to talk to about vacation plans.

On top of all that, don't fall behind in any of my other hobbies and projects...

It's almost halfway through the month, so just an update to see how things are going.

Quote:

Mixed results here...I have pulled this off for a couple days. It's probably reasonable to say I should check email no more than 2 or 3 times a day. I have a bad habit at work of compulsively checking email and blogs to relieve stress. I managed to keep that under control today.

Yeah, I've pretty much failed that one. I have a few more weeks, though.

Quote:

I failed that one until today, when I pulled an all-nighter and came in at 5:00. It was actually a somewhat productive day. I'll see if I can keep the momentum going.

Quote:
Talk to my boss about a future career move.
I had a brief meeting with my manager today...I said I'm looking for a change, but I don't want to jump ship right away. I discussed some of the personal development I'm doing, and said I'd like opportunities to exercise my public speaking or organization skills. He seemed as nervous as I was, and by the end of it I felt my insides were all twisted up, but I think it was a conversation I should have had sooner. We'll see how it pans out.

I got a pair of lenses last week, but I haven't been able to put them in yet. It sounds lame, but I don't want to try the online dating stuff again until I can get rid of these glasses and get a tan.

Well, I didn't prepare at all for my speech until the morning before, but it went well regardless.

I'm working on my contact lenses but it's slow going and very frustrating. I got both my lenses put in on Saturday. On Sunday I could get the right lens on the first try, but I couldn't get the left at all. On Monday I couldn't put either one in, and gave up.

I don't know if I'll get back into online dating this month...I wanted to have my contact lenses taken care of before then.

I've made literally zero progress on my website or my work projects, unfortunately.

I also have a goal to get my apartment cleaned up, again something I've made zero progress on.

It's not all bad though, I'd say I'm going to be about 50% successful on my goals this month.
