I *will* start learning to play it, THIS YEAR.

Do it, its an excellent hobby, I've been playing for nearly 5 years and its a huge source of confidence for me

^ That's sort of what I'm hoping for, at the very least it will get me out of the house and get me doing something I wouldn't normally do, anything other than sitting around thinking about myself and my problems.
