When I'm around people that make me nervous, I put on "The Voice." It's over enunciated, sonorous, very monotone, and a little bored. It's a voice that says "I'm better than you, and you don't impress me," and I rarely smile when I use it.
It's a safety behaviour I need to kick - I need to smile more and use my normal voice. This is my goal!

Thanx f0r sharing first 0f all!! I am actually w0rking 0n the 0posite, Y0u see, I smile t00 much and need t0 use a m0re "C0nfident" speaking v0ice. A m0re assertive v0ice. A v0ice that when I use it it is because I have s0mething that I need t0 say. I d0n't want t0 ad0pt a "hey l00k at me" v0ice m0re 0f a self assured pers0n. I kn0w y0u menti0ned the 0pposite g0al, regardless we both share a g0al t0 accomplish

Good luck jane. I used to act annoying to drive away people who were friendly to me. It was also kind of a safety thing. I always regreted it afterwards
