My girlfriend is the same way, she just thinks I can get over it and "suck it up" when she forces me to go to places like parties at her brother's house with all his friends and people I don't know, and then pretty much abandon me. I like it better being left at home, so I don't feel like a wet blanket at the party, sitting in the corner being weird, and she doesn't have to worry about me, and can have fun.
