Desperation definitely factors into it. Think about the severe cases of this problem. Not everyone can just go to therapy and be 100% comfortable with this approach.

Saying nobody thinks twice about doing so is such a broad and offensive generalization. I don't particularly enjoy having to medicate myself so that I don't have constant panic attacks when I leave my house.

Think before you type, please. Everyone is different, and I don't know why I see so many posts claiming otherwise.
