Today at my internship job, I was in charge of being one of the people who answers the phone. It scares me to death every time I have to do it, especially if I have to repeatedly ask the person on the phone what they are saying, and if someone I work with is right there listening to me. But what was funny today was that the phone rang, and I had no intention of doing this and I didn't think about it at all, but I took a small step back from it and kind of pulled my arms across myself, as if the phone were some wild animal that was about to attack me. A second after I did it I realized how stupid it must look, and how it was silly to be reacting in such a dramatic way. It made the phone seem a little less scary. But just a little bit.
Anyone else have stories about things that scare them that turned out to be something you could laugh at?
